The aim of this presentation is to explain the sequence in thinking and planning when passive self-ligation, and more specifically the Damon system is the clinician’s appliance of choice. Clinical examples will be used to exhibit the (dis)similarities in the process of diagnosing and consequently managing cases with ‘minimal' and severe complexity. Tips for antero-posterior and vertical control of both anterior and posterior teeth will be displayed, and a step-by-step demonstration of the treatment progression will be given. Setting maximum facial and smile esthetics are always high in the priority list in the cases to be displayed.

In addition, rejuvenation of older faces in both a theoretical and clinical level will be discussed. Finally, the new Damon ULTIMA system key points will be reviewed and cases treated with the Ultima system will also be presented.
The correct use of the above information will aid Damon users of all levels to perform treatments with minimum risk of failing, and to provide their patients with superior results in terms of occlusal parameters, as well as macro-, mini-, and micro-esthetic goals.
